Ross was a member of the Supremes, the iconic all-women Motown grouping who hit the charts with songs similar "Baby Love" and "Tin can't Hurry Love," from 1961 to 1970. Later that, she moved into releasing a series of powerful solo hits like "Reach Out and Impact (Somebody's Hand)" and "Ain't No Mount High Plenty," grand, ballsy songs that showcased her multi-octave range.
